  1. I'm still wiping away the tears from laughing.
  2. I had to have a couple of trees removed about 5 years ago. The big loss was the Sunset Maple, you would have to see this tree in the fall to appreciate the color, and a very soft wood tree that grew out of the mulch one summer and the wind had knocked the top off of it. The guy that took them down was less than half the price of everyone else. He told me that he got paid for the chipped wood at a company in town that made mulch that was bagged and sold at Home Depot and Lowes. Maybe this should be under 'WHAT MADE YOUR DAY" instead.
  3. Very clean and realistic looking. The ones that I remember seeing were painted red, but they may have been a different model. The more I look at the details in the picture it looks very real to my eyes.
  4. I recall you asking about info on a possible original color for this. Interesting looking concept and I like how you finished it.
  5. I agree with David G the light touch of mud like you might get from a puddle or two looks great, and the bed shows it's new on the job.
  6. The story I was told was that Plymouth couldn't use the Aero package the way that Dodge had. Richard got sideways with Mopar over it and he went with Ford that one season. Just so happened I was employed by Union Oil Company at the time and worked out of the Colton Ca. Distribution Center at the time. One of our duties was to bring the race gas from the Union Oil Brea Research Center to the Riverside Raceway for any racing events. This put me in the pits early one morning during the drivers practice sessions and Richard had gotten off line thru the S's. The buildings in the garage area were built a couple of feet higher than the surrounding black top to aid in drainage during heavy rains I guess. So I walked done a couple rows of garages and there someone had this blue Ford Torino jacked up from the low side on a single floor jack and he's crawling around under the car on a creeper and a garden type hose washing the underside of the car. The only other person around has his back to me as I walk up and I ask what was going on. You'll never guess who turns around and with a very slight smile says he kind'a of got off course. One of the nicest and unassuming person I have ever met. That's my Petty story and how I came to know that he drove a Ford for a year anyway.
  7. This paint work really looks nice. You can appreciate all the body work, just compare this to the before picture.
  8. I would think that if the neighbors tree causes damage to your property then the tree's owner is legally responsible. Also you may even have legal rights to remove any branches from said tree if it is over your property line. I agree with the suggestion to get some background legal issues straightened out first before approaching your new neighbor. Your neighbor may even have recourse against the previous owner if they have recorded that they had misstated the property line. The Title Company that handled their closing should have provided a legal description of the property lines based on the Counties Recorder of Deeds. I wouldn't wait any longer then you have to since the longer you wait you are reinforcing the new owners position in a legal sense.
  9. So sorry for your loss. Never easy when you lose a member of the family like this.
  10. I got the pictures and they look great. Very cleanly detailed. WW's on a Yanko, way not, makes it kind of a sleeper.
  11. Just think of all the money you wasted if you had bought a Day Planner for 2020.
  12. Your methods of weathering a model always make your builds a standout. Great subject and I like the flat bed with the working wench.
  13. I looks forward to this. I like the way the kit's roof and windshield are chopped.
  14. Beautiful looking engine and chassis. What color did you use on the carbs ?
  15. I like this color also, with this different shade I can see how it would stand out. The kit looks like it's very well done. This Rabbit has me thinking I would like to try one.
  16. Great looking craftsmanship on this pedal setup.
  17. The engine swap is much like a 1:1 build, but you got it in. I like how your wood work on the body is going.
  18. I like this theme. I agree, saving the old Edsel roof may come in handy someday. I did the same thing with the roof off of the AMT '57 Ford hardtop, used it over 20 years later.
  19. Considering their age these cars look very good. At least the "tin worm" hasn't had it's way with their bodies.
  20. Does this kit have the Canoe in it or is that just dressing on the box top ?
  21. I never realized this had a VW front end until Muncie posted the instruction sheet.
  22. I built one of these last year and really liked it. As with most any kit with years worth of tool use there are a few minor fitment problems. The only issue that I would check before doing any body work is the fit of the kits windows. In my case the windshield fell thru the opening and the rear window wasn't much better. I just made new mounting points for the windows with some Plastruct .The Bed, I feel the bed should be pre fitted before final paint and then assembled. The area between the inner bed and the outer fenders can be seen after assembly so I would use a flat black color there. The bed is a little flimsy till the glue sets and I just glued the parts a step at a time. The alignment between the cab and the bed takes a little adjustment but not a real problem. The interior fits snug but at least it isn't trying to fall out during assembly. I would watch the leading edge of the dash board where it and the bottom of the windshield and the cowl all come together. This area may require a little sanding but nothing out of the ordinary. Remember mine had to have some mounting material added in that area so this my have been my own creation. Please post your build. If you should have a problems there are many far more skilled builders than myself here that will help if asked.
  23. Great looking 'Burban. I'll bet the neighbors love you.
  24. Most everything seems better after a couple of glass's of your favorite Vino. Sunday evening was the first time in months that it was comfortable to sit on the deck and my wife and I enjoyed some nectar of the gods.
  25. That one might actually be more effective than any other home made mask I've seen. Just have to remember to duck going thru doorways or you'll have a sore neck.
