Tom Geiger Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) New thread! The Powerball Lottery is up to $625 Million tonight. My wife and I aren't major players, but will invest a few dollars when the jackpot is crazy. We understand the odds, but it's worth $6 just to dream about it. And people just like us do win the lottery, I always enjoy watching the TV coverage where some stunned dude is standing there with the big check. So here we go.... What model of yours would you have built in 1:1 if you won the lottery? I believe I'd have a reputable shop build me a copy of my Model A Woody Pickup! I'd love to drive that one around! Only difference is that I believe I'd want a cooler old school engine than the Chevy small block. Thinking a Buick Nailhead! Next? Edited March 23, 2019 by Tom Geiger
cobraman Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Not sure I really have to give an answer for most people to know my answer,

Rusty92 Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 (edited) Great thread idea Tom! I would have a 1:1 of my '56 F-100 with a blown 351 in it! Edited March 24, 2019 by Rusty92
Straightliner59 Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Well, I guess if I won, I wouldn't have to worry about a daily driver, so, I'd maybe go for this one, and go hang out at nostalgia drag race events.
Scott Colmer Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 My wife and I talked bout this. We agree. It would be this one...
Zoom Zoom Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Easy answer; my Flashback II. Start w/a Camaro, add a Challenger front end and Mustang rear end and enjoy the mayhem at Caffeine & Octane every month! It was funny enough reading the comments when the first one I built went viral on car blogs almost 10 years ago. 90% of people wouldn't give it a second glance.
Snake45 Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 (edited) Limited to something I've actually built? Hmmmm, I'd have to go back and look at them all. Meanwhile, I have one started that would be The One: a '65-'66 Mustang 2+2 that would be a blend of features from the '65 GT350R, the '66 GT350, and the '69 Bullittmobile. Basically, the perfect Mustang, with a modern drivetrain. And I'd actually DRIVE it. Daily. And it would be followed by a '68 Camaro RS in Corvette Bronze, a '67 El Camino in Marina Blue, and a '66 Nova in blue--all of which I plan to model, but haven't yet. (Haven't even started them.) That would be a fun car to ride around in and watch the double takes. Edited March 24, 2019 by Scott8950
StevenGuthmiller Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Honestly, I think that I would go with my '61 New Yorker. Steve
Bucky Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Well........it would be more than one for me: 1962 Chevrolet "Palamino" 1962 Studebaker Lark 1959 Cadillac 1969 Dodge SuperBee If I hit the big lottery.......why not have 'em all?? LOL
Luc Janssens Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Well I haven't built my dream car yet, so guess I will build it together with the contracted resto shop, so I can detail it inside out, just as the 1:1
SSNJim Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Based on the number of projects I have going, their status, and the number of kits/parts, I think I would just buy a junkyard and call it even.
TarheelRick Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Have not built a model of my dream car yet, but I do have the parts collected (I think). It would be a 1965 Chevelle SS with 4 or 5-speed and a '69 Z-28 engine, painted Tahitian Turquoise, Keystone mags with L-60's on the rear and G-60's on the front. Now the one I am going to build is a model of the one I owned, which was a 283 4-speed.

Tom Geiger Posted March 24, 2019 Author Posted March 24, 2019 Just learned that nobody won the Powerball last night, so the next jackpot will be even larger! My wife informs me that we didn't even get a single digit on our three tickets. Oh well, no woody this week!
DPNM Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 If it is a model I've built I would go with my avatar, the DeathProof Nova. If it's a vehicle available in model form I'd replace this, although it would be a 4 speed this time around.

espo Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 If won that kind of money I have a couple of shelves worth of models to build in 1:1 scale.
Snake45 Posted March 24, 2019 Posted March 24, 2019 Thanks guys for reminding me--I'll need to add a '67 Corvette and a '65 Chevelle to my list. And also a 1G Nova, gasser or AWB style.

mikemodeler Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 I would probably end up with 1:1's like my model collection, lots of unfinished but big ideas! There would be a few old pickups, some classic muscle cars and maybe a new car or two.
