BeakDoc
Been on a bit of a stock build kick lately so I decided to change things up a bit. Since I’ve been sitting on 2 of these kits, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to experiment with one of them. The purist may want to avert their eyes. I didn’t do much more than lower the ride height and slap on some Pegasus disc brakes/wheels and tires. Anything that was chrome or is supposed to be chrome has been treated with Alclad Black Chrome; something else I wanted to experiment with. The paint is Model Master Gloss Black, decanted and airbrushed with ScaleFinishes 500 clear. This was my first crack at a solid black paint job. Looks good from 6 feet away, but I’ve got beaucoup room for improvement. Comments, questions, pointers and critiques are always welcome. Thanks for looking. Namaste. espo
Great looking Buick. I like the way you used different colors to accent engine and under hood details.
Dragonhawk1066
That really turned out great! The GSX stripes are a perfect contrast, great choice of wheels with the red stripe on the outside edge of the rim, and the red steering wheel and shifter grip are perfect touches! Plowboy
Now that is murdered out! I've always wanted to do a model in that style. But, haven't done it yet. This build may give me the push I need.

CapSat 6
I think it was Car and Driver Magazine who used the line in one of their articles about the Buick Grand National: "Darth Vader, your car has arrived". Well- here's the Grand National's Granddaddy. Very Nice!!!

Steve H
Hi Chris, generally, I don’t like fully blacked out vehicles. This is definitely an exception, it looks awesome. The subtle decals, and hits of red are just right. I did a similar build a few years back with a 71 Challenger as an experiment, it turned out ok, but not nearly as nice as this. Well played! Cheers, Steve
