Third generation modeler?

Yessir. My Grandpa built model trucks, big rigs, and O-scale train dioramas back in the ‘70s and ‘80s, my dad built a little bit of everything back in the ‘90s, and now I’m following in their footsteps. Which is kinda nice, because now they can see their old projects completed.

Awesome. Dad had an accident at work when I was 2 1/2 that left him disabled until I was around 5. He built some models during that time and I was fascinated. I credit him for me getting into the hobby. And buying me kits and paint.

Went to a contest at a local shop, and picked up a few things. They had full racks of Revell paints, both enamel and acrylic. I picked up a tin of red that is similar to the old Pactra International Colors IJN Red. I also got a Mr. Hobby Super Metal color. I got the clay for a mold, or two I want to make, and wanted it to be compatible with the Alumilite rubber I usually employ. I had been wanting to pick up a Long John, because it's--well, it's an old Monogram kit, and I think I might like to build another one! The Model A from my Model Roundup pre-order arrived, today, as well. Most of Pegasus' wheels I've seen are more low rider oriented than I have use for. These were just too pretty to pass up! Not pictured is a tube of (2) Special Shapes 1/32" square brass bar stock and the latest contest issue of the magazine that is no more.

Started off with a 40 % off one item for Micheals. Hated to waste it so I drove to Albany, NY Micheaals seeing the one nearest me has nothing. They had a really good selection of kits. So I purchased the Monogram 1968 Super Bee there. Then I remembered that right around the corner from that Micheal's was a Walmart. Stopped in there and they had kits. Looks like it must have just been put out on the floor because there were a lot of kit. There I purchased the Ranchero, Supernatural Chevy, The 1969 Cobra Fastback The Nova Wagon and 2 display boxes. A lot of people were looking at them.

Great haul David, My Walmart doesn’t have models. They was selling the display Christmas trees last night.

Received my order from Galaxie: 38 foot tri-axle fifth wheel trailer and the Long John dragster. Was unimpressed with their shipping charges until I received the package, excellent packaging.

Found this sealed at a thrift/resale store for a really good price.

Amazes me the quality control or lack there-of from Ertl. The box build is missing fuel tanks, tail light panel, rear fenders and mudflaps!

Don't believe this was originally an Ertl kit. I believe it to be AMT. Ertl usually did International Harvester trucks before becoming part of AMT.

Correct, but this was released by Ertl and someone built it for the box art. The pieces missing in the pics are included in the kit though.

The box art was bad on a lot of AMT kits in that era (2004)...like they put in the bare minimum of effort.

Or the kit shown was not in the package.... The Mustang II comes to mind, the box build is an MPC, but the kit was the AMT.

My haul from the Southlandz show in Largo, FL. The screwbottom '60 Galaxie came from the $5 bin as did the '68 Vette and '63 Vette kit in the ziploc bag. The Hot Rod Ford Set I last built as a kid in 1988- it was nice to see another set reasonably priced!

I posted some photos of the show in this thread-

Picked up a 61 Comet ( needs a rear bumper , a Valiant ( not sure of the year , no markings ) and the new Mooneyes dragster kit at a slotcar show in Port Orange ( just south of Daytona ) .

At the Largo, FL show on Saturday I picked these up. The Ferrari and Audi are original issues that were still in plastic (not anymore!). I never even knew the Peugeot existed and I jumped on it when I saw it.PXL_20211115_181834832.thumb.jpg.59d3298b7b123079e092b9566043a5e5.jpgPXL_20211115_181849286.thumb.jpg.5582a17da851e6224dce6c2c033c386c.jpg

I received the Ray's Kits Indy truck decals for the 1994 F-150 Lightning today. Bought them on The Bay November 2. Very nicely packed. Gonna scream if I mess one of these up, LOL.
