My issue with the Hot Wheels theme is that that it goes against the theme of the race. They typically are over the top customs designed to be "out there", and grab attention. You'll get stopped every five miles by the troopers just for visibility. I think the Hot Wheels theme should be a build-off of its own.

Awesome work! That's the first time I've seen that top from the kit used and you did it justice. I have that kit I bought partially built. While not exactly a glue bomb, it has some issues. I've had it several years but seeing yours brings the itch to get it done.

A lot of guys will poo poo using Shapeways but I love Ron Olsen's parts. You could go with this LSx which comes with everything you need except a carb. With the processing fee they've added and shipping it comes to $26.85. About your standard kit price, and you can't bet better detail.
