  1. Fantastic photo coverage my man. You were the proverbial Kid in a candy store with a camera. Your choice of detail shots is amazing showing us details we are never likely to ever have a chance to see in person. Thanks for sharing your talent with us !
  2. Where did that tree of really neat head light lenses come from?
  3. I absolutely love this build! Radically unique design and execution abound. Great color choice really works well and that engine is a real head scratcher that commands a lot more scrutiny at some point. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Thanks for posting the great photos of this event. There a few vehicles I don't recognize. The was a red sports roadster with a license plate "the flame", also a two tone '40's four door sedan in tan. What were those?
  5. Only one image is displayed here. The rest are not available.
  6. Looking very promising.
  7. My inspiration comes from everywhere it seems. I love discovering images in magazines,on line, when we travel,at model shows, etc. Some many fantastic things have either been designed or built by amazingly talented people over the last century that I'll run out of time to build most of them before I run out of ideas. I have large bulletin board on the wall right beside my model workbench with the heading "Headbone Nationals" across the top of it. It's covered with sketches and pix of projects that inspire me to keep chipping away at the constant parade of cool stuff runs through my head.
  8. I just finished scratch building a 1/25 scale 1937 Curtiss Aerocar 24 foot travel trailer and am now working on a tow vehicle for it. That will be a '37 International D300 cab over with a custom body. The IH is a beautiful resin piece offered years ago by the late Ray Parsons of R&R Vacuum Craft. The truck will have paint to match the trailer which is Krylon Burgundy over gloss black. The trailer has a roof covering similar to a vinyl top in black. The original Aerocars used a material called nitarite to cover the roofs on these high end fifth wheelers. That detail was duplicated on my trailer with a Rust-Oleum number 239119 multicolor textured. That duplicates the texture I needed. I painted over that with flat black then rubbed it with my fingers for a satin finish. You can see what the trailer looks like by Googling" Curtiss Aerocar" and see the tow vehicle by looking up "Tug Boat Annie tow truck". Great to hear you are back at your workbench Carl. There is definitely something positive about returning to our benches even for a little while.

  10. Very crisp and cleanly built model. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Nicely done Phil. Are those tail lights kit parts?
  12. Welcome aboard mate. I think you will certainly be inspired by what you find here.
  13. Welcome to the best modeling forums available. I hope you will find the inspiration here to help you enjoy your hobby even more.
  14. Nicely done. Not many of us can find kits that accurately represent vehicles we owned. Very believable weathering. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Very realistic work. Thanks for sharing.
  16. After finding that your dio will be four feet square I wonder how you plan to transport it. First of all it has to be impossible to remove from any space in my house except my garage. Transporting it will be a whole new challenge without a large van. I'm sure you have solutions for all of this as I remember stories about a guy spending years building a really great sailboat in the basement of his house only to discover when it was finished it was too large to go through the door.
  17. Thanks for posting this build. RV' s are a much over looked area of modeling today meaning that some(or a lot) of scratch building is called for. The only other option is of course scoring one of those now extinct Modelhaus resin cast one's you probably wish you had picked up when you first saw it.
  18. There are several "how to" things posted on the internet which can be accessed by typing In " how to chop the top of a '55 Ford pickup truck".Some are videos so those might be of assistance. Good luck.
  19. It really is amazing how much things have changed in both the real and model car worlds. A few years ago a real(or model) with that type of finish would have never been seen at a show. Everything was all about shine, chrome and polish. Great job, thanks for sharing with us.
  20. Thanks.I missed that detail. Great concept overall and very well planned and executed.
  21. As there is no rear door, how do the rear seat passengers enter their seats ? I thought the rear cowl might pivot up for that but there seems to be an upholstered panel at that location. Just wondering how that works.

    Junk.

Absolutely realistic photos. Had it not been for seeing a little bit of your finger in one photo I could have sworn the cars were real. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
  23. Very stylish and slick design. Well executed and balanced. I love the single seat concept.
  24. Outstanding work!
  25. Thanks for sharing the great photos. Those builders have some serious talent.
