  1. Glad to see this one back on the bench. Sorry to hear of your frustration with the build. I think they would have had duel matching mirrors.
  2. If it comes to pass that you have to spray paint the area, just remember to avoid any masking tape around the tail panel decals. That would not end well. This is a shame since the color and finish on the paint is really nice.
  3. I like your new front spoiler. This looks like a setup I have seen refered to as a Splitter. The side molding on the OEM models were body colored. They are seen but not as noticeable unless you want them to standout then match the window trim. Since you're going for a real smooth look consider leaving the door handles off or doing something like the Kindigit style handles. Great looking two door setup.
  4. Sounds like you may want to avoid I-80 in the evening when they have their bonfires.
  5. Love looking at your Impala. You mentioned finding others that had bucket seats and those would have been the Super Sport models since that was the big difference aside from some very minor trim parts. I know this as I also got a new '66 Impala Super Sport in late '65. Mine was Danube Blue, very dark Blue mt. I also had the 325/395 and 4 speed with the Posi. rear end. The car also had the in dash tach and a 4 gauge instrument pod between the console and the bottom of the dash and the F-41 sport suspension package. Great car and I loved the way it handled as I was living in the mountains in SoCal at the time. The problem for me and the reason I had to trade it off for a new '68 Bel Air was the insurance payments were more than the car payments. You should build a model of your car with the Revell '66 Impala SS kit and change the front seat to a bench. These are still some of the best looking full size Chevys in my opinion anyway.
  6. Great looking save. I like the roof design on this.
  7. Turned out beautifully. I enjoyed watching you over come the problems of the fit and finish of this build. Great looking paint finish and cleanly detailed chrome and trim.
  8. I like the sleek elegant look of the body and of course the color and the paint finish.
  9. I always thought thes were neat looking Motor Homes. I think they had the Olds Toronado drive train.
  10. The Hoods have a different Hood Scoop design that was dependent on the year model of the vehicle along with many of the trim items mentioned already.
  11. Nice to see this one back on the work bench.
  12. Your body detailing looks good on this.
  13. Another possibility would be the old AMT '65 Galaxy with the optional Bubble Hood.

    1986 El Camino

Looks great and always fun building a model of a car you were close to.
  15. Great looking paint and interior on both of these.
  16. The GTX looks great. The Dyno would be perfect in a diorama of a speed shop.
  17. Great looking paint color and finish.
  18. Your build is looking good. I just noticed the push bumper decals on the kits decal sheet. Hard to figure out which one to use.
  19. The body looked really nice and smooth in primer. The Tamiya Gloss Black looks like it's already cleared.
  20. Maybe consider a Salt Flats Land Speed Record type build.
  21. Don't forget to turn of the AC as well. Between that and having to roll down the windows. creating more drag, I'll take the AC thankyou.
  22. Mowing the lawn was a pain when I first was was given that chore. The year before I started High School I was sent to live with my father and step-mother. The area where they were living was then considered "the country" west of Chicago. They had about half an acre on a hillside over looking a stream with several terraces with grass and steep steps going down to the back yard. Dad had a really beat up old Toro that was supposed to be self propelled but the drive wheel had worn out the tire so I provided the power and had to drag this mower up and down those steep steps. At the time it seemed like a real drag for me. The upside is that I learned how to mow and edge to make our yard one of the better looking yards at the time. I also was able to pick up a couple of summer side jobs in the area that put a little spending money in my pocket. Later in life owning my own homes I have always received compliments on how the yard looked and I have taken pride in that. Lesson learned I guess.
  23. Great looking Subby. These cars always made me smile and this has a great looking color and stripe combination.
  24. Great looking pick up. Most of the OEM trucks of the day didn't enjoy such a nice color. The nice thing is you get to build it your way and thisd looks nice and cleanly built.
  25. Great looking little Chevy. I like the way you build your OEM looking models.
