  1. Many years ago X-Acto offered metal files in various shapes that may work. The problem now is that a lot of normal shopping places are closed. I remember seeing some at HL the last time I was there.

Thank you for your comment. I'm redoing the lights on the package tray since they're just big enough to hit the rear window.
  3. That Pup is getting a little close for comfort. You know what they say about male dogs and shinny wheels. Hopefully he just wants to go for a ride also.
  4. I was basing my comment on the wheels on a '98 TJ that we had. Now that you mention it ours was a Sport model and not the Rubicon. Ours had the 15 inch "Grizzly" wheels. I have wanted to build a model of that Jeep but ours was a hardtop and the body sides are shaped differently. I might be able to overcome that but there would still be the removable hard top to do. I really enjoyed looking at your build and think it is really well done.
  5. Very cleanly built Wrangler. You mentioned the wheels seem to small, remember they only had 15 inch wheels at that time. Are these the kits tires ? They look like a nice upgrade from OEM's.
  6. I like how you detailed boom and the bed.
  7. You might consider making a painting mask of the letters or even if you can somehow cast them. Then sand the area as smooth as posable and then cot a filler panel as thin as posable to cover that area. Then use either the mask or casting to recreate that part of the bed. Or just cut a thin piece of plastic to cover then use a larger Blue Oval decal to complete.
  8. All of the colors you have been playing with look good, but the two clear Reds are my favorites. The Red over Blue is the most interesting to me anyway. Reminds me of a color they used to refer to as Brandywine.
  9. Nerve wracking cutting the clear plastic. The Surf Board looks great. Not sure how you're going to mount it because of the roof. I have seen some 1:1 surfers that hang them from the roof inside the vehicle. I don't think that would work here but I'll bet you got something in mind.
  10. I had the same thing happen on an old AMT Valiant that I was striping. The plastic became so brittle that it would just crack and break when ever I handled the body. I was trying to make a model of a friends car so it really bothered me.
  11. I followed your build on this. Besides the chassis and suspension and body work, the paint work is the big standout on this build.
  12. I agree with everyone else on the stance, that really sets the tone of any build. I like the paint, it is such a Mopar color. Interior looks nice also.
  13. Great looking Trailer kit. I remember building a few of these years ago and they were often offered as an option in many of the old AMT pick up kits. AMT or Round 2 reissued the '76 Chevrolet Caprice kit and included this trailer in the kit. I have two, the "AMT Classic" series and "Pro Shop" series.
  14. I agree with Steamboat on the LS engine swap. I like the color and great paint finish. The seats look like they belong there. Impressive chassis detailing especially the exhaust system.
  15. This really turned out great. Nice paint of course, but all of the scratch built everything is what I most enjoy looking at.
  16. I really like the theme of this build. Of course it is great looking and cleanly finished. Thinking back to the "Total Performance" era of Ford makes you almost wonder why they didn't offer such a model.
  17. I hope I don't jinx this, but they don't seem so bad today. Yesterday I had to get off early since I could hardly find what I was trying to click on. Very thankful today.
  18. This is looking showroom fresh. Great color and paint finish. .
  19. Is that Dick Van Dyke falling off the end of the couch ?? Thanks, I had ever seen this one. Besides the use of the words this were true comedians that knew how to use what used to be called the "Sight Gag". Carol always seemed to have the top Hollywood talent of the day. They would have a loose script and were encouraged to improvise if they wanted. She would have actors on the show and you would think of them based on parts they had played or what ever their persona was in your mind. Then in the middle of a skit they would say something so out of caricature everyone would lose it.
  20. I just noticed your mention of putting a Ford Y engine from the Merc. Wagon kit. I'm thinking that engine is a Cadillac engine. This may explain way you have to do so much chassis surgery. You have already all but got this mounted so I wouldn't change now, but the best Y block right now can be found in the new Revell '57 Ford kits.
  21. I have a work on hold using a stock Corvair with an LS in the back seat. This would make a much better starting point. I look forward to seeing how this one progresses.
  22. Great color and the flares look good. You can't look at a Mini and not smile anyway, and one like you're doing, is well like the perfect excuse to make your self really laugh in a demented fashion.
  23. Norton is powerless against this Pandemic.
  24. I don't recall the specific's now, but last year I was trying to send some parts to someone in the UK . I couldn't believe what the USPO wanted for postage. I think if a half dozen of us were to send a small package overseas they could pay off their debt and retirement fund needs with the charges.
  25. A word of caution on the moustache wax. While it will hold the hairs together and can be enhanced by wetting your fingers while shaping the moustache but as a stickum you will be disappointed. Use the odorless type and ventilation shouldn't be a problem.
