  1. I think I will agree, the braided lines look rather modelish. If it is indeed a model, it is very convincing.
  2. I have used my rotary-paper cutter on styrene for years. It cuts the thin stuff normally with one pass, some of the thicker sheet requires a couple passes and maybe even having to snap it. Just ordered a new set of blades for mine, got a cutting wheel and a scoring wheels. Haven't tried the scoring wheel yet, but I believe it should work quite well on the thicker stuff.
  3. That is a might fine looking headlight. Also a very well presented tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Really love those belly tankers. You did an outstanding job with this one. Sure wish some enterprising soul would kit these.
  5. Issue #208 is in the house. Very well done, especially like the Tool Time section. So glad it is back in circulation.
  6. The ingenuity of modelers is amazing. These are some simple, but very useful ideas.
  7. Really a fine looking build, also love the idea of a "real motor" being used. One suggestion for the bed inner fenders is to use the front inner fenders from an older late model chassis. They could be cut to fit - at least I think they would work.
  8. Just scanning through this and came across this post. I get my prescription meds through the mail. Two of my prescriptions earlier this year were also shipped DHL and sat in Raleigh, NC, one for 22 days and the other for 16 days. When I talked with my local USPS, since both were to be turned over to them for delivery, they verified there seemed to be a problem with that company and the Raleigh distribution center. Going to get a bit political here - blame it all on COVID.
  9. Just finished a great trade with Ken "BigTruck". I really appreciate the communication and ease of trading. Thanks.
  10. I have had fairly good luck with the freezer method. Wet the model pretty well, place into a zip-lock bag, and freeze it for a couple days. Doesn't work all the time, but it is a less destructive attempt than a hammer and chisel.
  11. This is my small collection, not really sure how many - somewhere between 250 and 300. Pictures are just a sample
  12. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Great job on the build.
  13. Going to be a cool combination. Looking forward to updates.
  14. I found one in the AMT 49 Mercury kit, I used it on my '34 pickup.
  15. Looking forward to your progress on this build. Going to be interesting watching that hull take shape.
  16. Some really great pictures. You got me with that peach '64 Mercury big-block 4-speed car and if I can't have that one I would like that black Torino, both are rare beauties.
  17. I really miss my '72 Westphalia. I kick myself everyday, traded it for a 78 Rabbit - what was I thinking!!
  18. This is why I build models, because I cannot afford the real thing. You all have some really good looking 1:1 projects coming along.
  19. Very nice save an an iconic hot rod. I'll bet that one whistled when it went down the strip. Also wonder how it got through tech inspection with that fuel tank on the running board right beside the driver. Looking forward to more of your saves, keep'em coming.
  20. Definitely a different build. I really like what you are doing with this one. Never been much of a Batman fan, "Spidey" was my hero.
  21. Very fine looking old warrior; about time to reskin her and put a few more years on it. As the others have said that is some excellent weathering and damage work.
  22. Good start on this one Sam, looking forward to updates. I actually think the ob used a wire brush rather than 220, the 220 would have been smoother. ?
  23. Can't tell you had any problems. Looks like a driver to me.
  24. Looks like a dealership brochure; very nice, clean build.
  25. Are you sure that engine shot is not a 1:1? The detail is outstanding.
