First I drove was a 1978 Plymouth Fury "Sport Suburban" wagon. Learned to drive in that monster wagon. Wish I had it now! First car I owned, was a 1978 Ford Thunderbird. 400ci V8, metallic brown, brown vinyl roof, brown velour interior, white walls, spoke hubcaps, ice cold AC, melt your face heater.

Step 1: left index finger, push the "CTRL" button on your keyboard. Step 2: right index finger, manipulate the roller on the top of your computer mouse until the screen/font size is to your liking. I just had a look, seems like any other site.

I don't gripe much, but the current microprocessor shortage is a serious PITA. I currently have 19 factory ordered GM trucks, 4 GM SUVs, 8 Ram trucks, and 2 Ford vans; all held up due to the chip shortage. My customers are chomping at the bit and need their vehicles. And quite frankly, I want them to arrive so I can deliver them and get paid! Ugh.

I honestly have no idea which size that is. Probably a G or an A. As it came off a new string, you can cut the coiled base to whatever size you want. There's literally about 30 inches of string to utilize! Well....it kinda does. I've seen both. On a police car from the 50s, it probably does have that shape that bulges in the middle. For me, in 1/25 scale, the difference would be so negligible that it wouldn't bother me. To each their own.

If you can get your hands on new guitar strings, the heavier wound strings will already have that coiled base. Here's a quick and dirty example. With a little more effort, you could make this work.

I'm building the original issue of that Volvo 760 now. Pretty basic, nothing to get too excited about...unless you're a Volvo fan, like me. Needs some help in terms of wheel fitment, but it's not horrible.

She was probably the first "video vixen" my friends and I ever really noticed. And definitely the first one whose name we knew. Spend tons of time with our VHS player, slowing the Here I Go Again video down, verifying that there was indeed a nip slip. lolz Had a rough period, but seemed like she had everything turned around. Sad.

I've had better luck with the Acme site. I find it's more accurate. At least for Canadian plates it seems to be.

Can you imagine going back in time to 1971, heading into a Chrysler showroom, and telling people that in 50 years, people will be selling these cars for millions? People would think you're off your nut.

Cleaned up some posts. Sometimes our heroes seem immortal and ever present, so it's surprising to hear that they've left us. It's not like people are literally shocked that someone could actually die. Calm down, move on.

As a related tip, I've used Lego to properly align a truck chassis during assembly. Works great!

It was two years ago today that Luna became part of the family.

I always have music on. Usually something a little more mellow, almost always instrumental. Mostly obscure post-rock bands.

I've had that happen for a couple of reasons. First, I'm just forgetful. I see something and think to myself, "Dang that's awesome. Gotta have it!" Then I get home and I already have it. This doesn't happen too often. Tamiya Audi quattro, AMT Christine. Two that come to mind. Second, it's too good of a deal to pass up. I've found kits at antique stores or garage sales at prices so low, I have to buy it. Prime example, a couple of years ago I was at a client's shop delivered his new truck, when I saw a couple of boxes of model kits. I asked, and he said he was clearing out space. Two Revell COE Aerodynes, two Revell Auto Transport trailers, AMT Ford C900 with trailer, all factory sealed and mint, for $100 CDN. Third, I just want them. ESCI Ford Transit, AMT C1500 454SS; I have at least half a dozen of each of those. I buy whenever I find them and they're not an arm and a leg. I just love the subject matter.

Really nice build! My second car was a 1986 Stellar GSL. Got it in 1992, drove it for a year, and it was bulletproof. Manual trans, manual choke, but power everything, AC, great factory stereo, excellent heater, excellent fuel economy. Unfortunately, I literally rolled it down a mountain, so had to replace it. These were better than people gave them credit for.

Between family life, house/yardwork, other hobbies, and work, I get maybe one evening a week and maybe Sunday afternoons to work on my models. Currently haven't touch the bench since Saturday. Not optimal, but it is what it is.

I don't have pics, but my I use my dad's. He bought a large plastic bin, cut a hole in the back and attached an explosion proof fan. Works perfectly. I'm going to make something similar using foamcore board. Cheap, strong enough for a paint booth, can make it any size/shape I want, can add all kinds of lighting. Add a fan and a furnace filter in the back, and good to go.
