  1. The last drill index set I got was from Spot Model. So far I'm not impressed. Peter mentioned the 1/8" shank bits, I tried those some time ago, the flute is deeper, and yes they broke too easily. In Phoenix there is Hobby Bench, I've been getting the smallest bits individually for years, always good quality. Seems silly for the price, but I don't need a bunch of indexes with the larger sizes that I'll never use.
  2. Interior details whipped together. Gas, brake, and clutch pedals. Handbrake, seatbelt buckles. Second try at casting a new wheel. What remains in the holes is Silly Putty. My first attempt failed because I didn't shake up the part a/b bottles enough first, mixed the heck out of this batch resulting in all the bubbles.
  3. I do that, most of the time. Funny how the parts I don't do, end up being the problem. Yea yea. Should stick to Tamiya, box stock. ? Thank you.
  4. Nice job! Volvos make tough rally cars, built like a tank. I worked a few rallies in Arizona, this is a screenshot from video:
  5. That was spectacular. Wife loved it too. Love that famous story. I built a model when I was a teenager. Gave it away when we moved.
  6. bloated from abundant
  7. Very nice job on that icon! ? I built the kit last century, before the aftermarket took off.
  8. Thanks for the comment. ? You added US sidelights, and the mirrors are like the prototype. Very nice job on that, and it's not RED. I have the hood badge emblem, so that's why the molded on detail was sanded off. Working steering is a gimmick, when you turn the wheels, you can watch the steering wheel move. ? It's hokey, but keeping for the fun of it. After really screwing up the bad wheel, decided to cast a resin copy. I could have stolen one from the other kit, but that wouldn't be cool, and will throw a resin copy in that box. Fixed the other front flare, started to refine the shape and added some putty. After wet-sanding the body, saw all the other low spots, so putty on those. Also drilled the wheel holes to .113". Fixed the holes in the wheel wells with wine bottle foil. This just happens to be black, not intended to be the finish color. Some styrene in the footwell, plus foil to fill the gap. The funny thing about the steering rack, they put teeth all the way across, when only about 5 were needed. ? I could have used the other kit's battery contacts, but didn't. I had just converted my utility room fluorescent light fixture to LED (without the ballast), had salvaged the brass from the 'shunted' terminals, and thought this would work. Got the stained glass soldering iron out, and made this: Instead of figuring out a switch, glued in cigar ribbon, to pull the battery out to turn 'off'. Coffee can lid used for the wire thingies. Drilled a hole in the 'firewall' for the wires, guess the giant gap was supposed to be where the wire was to run. ?
  9. Nice job, classic color. I built a Roadster last century, nice kit.
  10. Well done custom, lights are a cool touch.
  11. Just went through this build, I can relate with much of it. Very impressed.
  12. Totally removed from the Box Stock, OOB, whatever class for straight build. Some things bug me, building what looks good enough. Fixing the seats, just the front, could cut completely out and fabricate floor and bulkhead, but not this time. Fixed the license plate light. The front wheel flare doesn't look right, decided the front needed to be moved back. Will reduce the size next, shouldn't be the same as the rear. Such a shame the tire aspect ratio is wrong, but will live with that. Noticing the greenhouse is a bit lower than the real deal, leaving that alone. This white car is a prototype, the door mirror is not like the kit, which is a good thing. ?
  13. I haven't bothered figuring out Pinterest and how to share photos, so take screenshots. This is the Eurowise 280 S with a turbo LS swap, appears to be a real car, not a rendering.
  14. Very creative! Like the chain detail, is it a real chain?
  15. Loving your attention to tiny parts. A few things needed to be duplicated, so it's taking twice as long. Distraction, sorry, but I didn't know about the Kellison Astra X300GT before, learned something today. Back to the regularly scheduled program......
  16. I'll vouch for the back-up camera, my 2016 Civic has it. For downtown diagonal parking, with a big pickup parked to the right, it's very handy. I don't use the right mirror camera much. I avoided the lane nanny option. I made fun of my undocumented wife for using the GPS to go across town. I have a good sense of direction, at least out west (in Chicago I was totally lost, hated it), but am using it more just because it helps. Self-driving cars, don't get me going........ Can hardly wait for a CME (or worse a EMT) to take out all the electronics. In a year 90% of the population will be dead. On that fun note, build models while you can!
  17. I see you are new here. Your link gave me this:
  18. That truck is insane! That in Japan? The George Barris SL, looks like he woke up from a hangover and wondered what he was doing.
  19. I've noticed that radical customs are relatively rare, the most common mod is dropping? Thanks for posting.
  20. You suffering from that too at the moment? ? I owned this last century, so of course will watch with interest what you are building. I didn't know about the strips on the roof being an option.
