  1. That engine is a model in itself. It'd look great outside of the truck.
  2. If this is your first, then you've got a great future with big rigs. Great job!
  3. Great engineering on your model. How did you make those precise little cutouts in the rails for the cross-beams?
  4. That's cool! I've Never seen anything like that before in real life. Maybe the salesmen couldn't sell anything but the "samples". ?
  5. I really like this truck! I've wanted to build a stock one of those for years, but never could find availability of all the OE wheels, bumpers and such. I'm surprised that no maker has tooled up a stock 80s or 90s Hilux pickup. They were so popular in real life and they still have a following today. My vote is for a black 86 4x4 extra cab, so I could duplicate Marty McFly's ride!
  6. Who cares Alan, I've got plenty of ideas for this subject matter! I want both. And I already have an original hardtop. I'm getting more.
  7. These guys really know their audience! Hey Revell, see the quarter window on the Mustang? That's the way it's supposed to look!
  8. I remember seeing a 64 Cadillac radio in a plated gold finish. It was around 1/20 scale. Not my scale or I would've bought it.
  9. Looks like there's your answer.
  10. In fact, are all the MPC Mopar chassis plates based on this same part? The front fender liners have me wondering.
  11. I've had Evergreen plastic strips break at the bends upon contact with plastic cement. I can't recall that happening years ago when I bought it. Then again, maybe the strips get brittle as they age and the glue causes it to break. Not sure though.
  12. Wasn't there a simplified one in the AMT 70-72 Chevelle SS?
  13. I remember someone sold resin cast bodies of the Trailways bus back in the 80s or 90s (the lettering gives it away). But I have never seen one in person or for sale. Your picture is what triggered a recollection.
  14. Enjoying all the work you're doing on this one. You just don't see these big trucks built and super-detailed much. Your thread title should be, "She's real fine, my 359!"
  15. From this angle, the hood ornament looks higher than the roofline. Or maybe it's flying away. Gotta say, I never thought of a Rolls Royce as custom material. Nice job.
  16. That will come in time. Best way to start is to get the 3in1 kits with multiple variations, as those kits (especially old 60's and 70s tools) will include lots of extra parts in one box. Try finding the AMT Trophy series' kits that you like. Examples include 53 Ford F100, 57 Ford Fairlane 500, 40 Ford coupe or sedan, 57 Chevy Bel Air or 59 El Camino. Great 60's kits that have stood the test of time.
  17. My dads Ranchero has a parchment seats and doors. It's not exactly white or bright white. Kind of has a tint of tan and green in it. Put it in a dark colored car and it looks white. I would think they used an off white to keep from blinding occupants on a bright sunny day!
  18. Try looking in the craft paint section at Hobby Lobby or WalMart. Big selection of acrylics and cheap prices. Probably will have just what you need!
  19. Looks good! Is that you in the photo?
  20. Steve may be too humble to post these on one thread, so I will do it for him. They're too nice not to be seen all in one place! https://www.flickr.com/photos/95249905@N05/page1 Steve, if you already have - then have this deleted.
  21. I'm liking all the different shades and sheens representing the many textures of each part. Very nicely detailed. Can't wait to see more.
  22. Am I the only one who gets "tire burn anxiety" seeing them this way?
