  1. Well, as a GM guy, I would try to lean you to the Nova. Bahama blue with Tamiya lacquer for the clear? I have very limited knowledge or experience with acrylic paint, so not sure what if anything went wrong there for you. Your first two have turned out great, especially considering the long hiatus... Look forward to your next project. Cheers, Steve
  2. Hi Micah, this is truly great stuff. The car, yes, but what a gift sharing this time and this wonderful hobby with your daughter. My daughter used to sit beside me at my hobby desk, she loved looking thru all the paints etc. So I set up a craft table for her right beside my desk. We spent many hours together at our desks creating, some of my favourite memories. We only built one car together, a snap together Hummer in bright pink. She loved it, but that was the end of her model car building. I built her a pink Prius about 7 years ago which she loves, it’s in the “under glass” section somewhere. Your paint work is beautiful, keep up the nice work, your daughters colour choices are perfect!! Cheers, Steve
  3. Hi Michelle, as the others have said, your builds just keep getting better with each project. This looks great, nice colour combo, love the blue. You have been busy!! Cheers, Steve
  4. Nice work Jim. That Hemi looks fantastic nestled in there. Cheers, Steve
  5. Nice to see an update Bill. At a quick glance, looks like you have good tunes to fuel your creativity! Well played. Cheers, Steve
  6. Looking good so far Mike. Nice work on the “cut and paste”. Have you picked a colour yet? Steve
  7. Hi Bob, I agree with Tom and David, paint may not have turned out as you hoped, but it suits the truck perfect. I really like it. Shame about the windshield... The gunmetal trim and wheels work well with the semi gloss paint. Well done! What’s next? Cheers, Steve
  8. Wow! I was lucky enough to purchase 5 kits from Modelhaus just before they closed. 2 are built, one is in the WIP section now, 2 left to build. For me, I don’t buy kits to “collect” them, I buy them to build. I will pay decent money for a rare kit, but $600 is ridiculous in my opinion. I actually still have the 61 Caddy waiting to be built, and look forward to building it in the future. No, it’s not for sale... Steve
  9. Beautiful build John. Perfect use for the sprint car tires, those look awesome on there. Steve
  10. That’s awesome, I need to make one of those for sure.
  11. Love your builds Kurt. Nice work on the diorama, awesome that you used some real stone. Ironically, I did a mountain bike trip to Moab/Slick rock about 20 years ago. I brought home an interesting coloured rock as a momento, it is still part of my landscape. Always cool when there is a back story of some sort with a build, thanks for sharing. Steve
  12. Hi Wayne, what a beautiful build. I miss the IROC series, up here in Canada, they would air the races on the Wide World of Sports. The races would be in between horse jumping, ski jumping, track and field... whatever else happened to be on. The details are amazing, a very well executed model sir! Cheers, Steve
  13. Looking awesome Nigel! Ride height still looks killer to me, and wheel/ tire combo is spot on. These Celicas, and the Subaru WRC are, in my opinion really cool little muscle cars. Like Greg said, reminds you of a mini Camaro. I would like to order some Fujimi and Aoshima wheels, but it seems that the ones I want are sold out everywhere... Cheers, Steve
  14. Very nice Impala Nigel! The first photo could easily fool you that it’s a real car. I must admit, “old man tan” wouldn’t have been my first choice, BUT, it looks awesome on there. Beautiful clean build all round, and excellent photos too. Cheers, Steve
  15. Awesome build Anton. Love the low stance, wheel/tire combo, engine choice, and the creativity of project. I agree with Rusty and Bruce that the stock hood is more in keeping with the theme, but man.... the other hood is really cool. Tough call there for me. Cheers, Steve
  16. Hi Roy, sounds like we had the exact same crazy weather last Sunday. Made for a good hobby day! Looking forward to seeing the paint treatment you put on this, it’s looking great. Cheers, Steve
  17. Very well said Dennis. This forum is an amazing place to connect, share, and for me learn from some incredible builders around the world. The Tim Boyd tribute thread was, and still is a treat to watch. Beautiful job on your build, purple and pink are perfect! Thanks for sharing your build and the story behind it, very inspiring sir. Cheers, Steve
  18. Hi David, yes, I made the decals. By the way, love the chassis extension. I did similar work on a Johan hearse using 2 Impala chassis, I did an ok job of it, but not quite as nice as yours. Cheers, Steve
  19. Hi Roger, nice to see an update on this one. I’m definitely going to tuck that rear end narrowing trick in the memory bank, well played. Dare I suggest Vedoro green for the body colour... Curious if you ever figured out the missing 3mm on the hood? I must say it gives me some comfort that a modeller of your caliber has what I call “voodoo” moments too. I had one of those issues with my Ol Comino build and the interior door panels. Sometimes it seems no matter how much we measure, double check etc. something still doesn’t add up. Anywhooo, look forward to watching this come together. Cheers, Steve
  20. Hi David, keep going! Here is my version...

Well, it certainly has the Roger Hayes look doesn’t it. I absolutely love your build style. Really enjoyed following the WIP thread on this one. Was the trim just Tamiya semi gloss black, or did you clear it? I definitely need some of that dull red, it looks awesome. Very clean build, and awesome colour combo. Cheers, Stev3
  22. Coming along beautifully. Awesome work as always Steve, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve
  23. Hi Alex, this looks fantastic. What clear did you use? I assume it’s polished, very nice shine. I have one of these planned for the fall. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Steve
  24. Very nice clean build, the added details really make this a stand out. I think I need some of those wheels too. Well done all round. Cheers, Steve
  25. That’s what I’m talkin bout !!! Wicked! Thanks for sharing that. I think the intake plenum will be body colour. There definitely could be some gold/bronze highlights here and there. I absolutely love the Vista Cruiser wagons. Cheers, Steve
