Beautiful work! Back in the 80's, My dad had a car detailing business . I remember cleaning and prepping a few of those when they were new. They came through the local Chevy dealer. They were a pretty big deal in a sea of Cavaliers, Berettas and Caprice wagons. lol........

It may be rare, but it is not a very good kit, I have a built one and it is a very simplified snap kit. The motor, wheels and tires are very toy like. It's one of those kits that is on Ebay for big $$$, but could show up at a local show for $10-$15 dollars......They also made a snap Firebird convertible about the same vintage.

There is a 1/24 Hellcat wide body available also, by Welly. I have one in orange and I have seen it in yellow. You can get them on ebay. I have seen them in boxes at Walmart too. I got mine at CVS, they sell them on a rack in the toy aisle, no box.

It's supposed to be an Oldsmobile. The kits origin was the old Blue Beetle from the 60's and that had a Cadillac with a 6x2 intake. The blocks are the same. The heads and intake were changed in the Boss A Bone version, to look like an Olds and were carried into the Early Iron version you have. The recent Blue Bandito version brought back the Cadillac style motor, but it doesn't have the Cadillac script valve covers that were in the original.
