  1. Not really the most “involved” part of building...but what really sets me back the most is turning small issues into big issues. I don’t have a specific example, but I think most of you are familiar with the issue! ? Some deal with it in an expeditious manner and some (like me) dither.?
  2. And His initials, J.C.....Just Caused a? LOL?
  3. This is the 30 ga. wire I use. It is 0.020” diameter which is 1/2” in 25th scale. I got it at an electronics supply shop.
  4. My newest version. I cut a 2”x2” square of 3/16” plate and glued the bottle to it. It adds some weight so the bottle won’t tip over as easy. I added a piece of non-slip drawer liner to the bottom. Now I can unscrew the cap with one hand. The brush holder is a cap from something...styrene tube would work as well.
  5. It’s coming along nicely Zoltan. Heres an idea for wheel tubs I just ran across. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/155246-wheel-tubs/
  6. I made some casts of the Willys door panels and the bead lock rings. I added pegs at the door corners so I would have something to hang on to while sanding the backside smooth. Turns out they aren’t really needed...oh well.?
  7. The things I use the most are the hobby knife, tweezers, all sorts of clamps, files and lots of home made sanding sticks.
  8. Yeah, that would be a tough one! It was apparently made as a die cast though. That must be a pump in front of the grill...driven by the main engine maybe?
  9. Congratulations Steve! As everyone said, it is well deserved.?
  10. That is Sweeeeet!?
  11. I don’t see any pics?
  12. Wow, that color is beautiful!
  13. Quite the imagination you have Gary...and talents! The back end reminds me of an extra terrestrial.?
  14. I mostly use the mitre box. My first saw was an Exacto, then I found this Huron (top) on clearance at Michaels. It has even finer teeth than the Exacto and is really good on thin wall stuff.
  15. Wow, excellent work going on here Anton!? I too prefer the stock hood.
  16. I like the colour too...almost a Caterpillar yellow.?
  17. Looking really nice Nigel.?These cars always remind me of a mini-Camaro.
  18. There’s a good bit in this thread.
  19. I made some inner wheel rims from pvc pipe and some bead lock rings. I’m not sure if I am going to use these for this build...but I definitely plan on using them on future builds. I also fabbed some interior door panels. I’m not going big on detail for the interior, but I can’t have nothing!?
  20. Hello Mark. The most important thing to remember, is that it’s a hobby, something to pass the time and have fun with. Perfection is something to aim for...but the goal posts keep moving on that one.? The more you build, the more you will expand your endeavours. Or if putting together box stock builds satisfies you, that’s great too. Have fun with it!
  21. I hope you are all well now Lorne. And glad to see you back at it. Your detailed work just astounds me!?
  22. What Roger said.? With a bit of water, and rinse well when done.
  23. Nope, but I have had my little spring loaded drill hop off the part and drill into my finger a few times!?
  24. Sorry, the wagon is not mine☹️, just a pic I pulled off the net. Are the ones you posted diecasts? They are nice! I have a Cooper Tires diecast Willys in those colors.
