  1. Wow. Now that is talent, and perseverance! “The roof has been raised, the cowl re-shaped and fitted with an opened vent. The windshield area has been enlarged, 'veed' slightly, and fitted with a frame gasket. The rear of the cab is fitted with a new back panel shape featuring a wider window, waist high horizontal rib detail, and an indented lower panel. The front fenders now have the correct 'beaked' front peak and a wider front valence panel. In fact, the only components on the entire model I didn't fabricate or extensively modify are the tires (Scenes Unlimited) and the headlight lenses and bezels.“ The builder did put the proper peak into it. You can clearly see it in the last picture of all of the primed parts. Also in one pic you can see the windshield frame does not lay down flat on the table. I was afraid everyone would suggest bondo, or living with it.? I can live with most of the other inaccuracies, but the windshield isn’t one of them.
  2. What is the best way to re-shape a body. This Willys pickup has a completely flat windshield. It should have a peak in the center. Will regular solder work? What kind of flux is needed. I saw this stuff on the net and it looks like it may be the ticket if normal solder won’t work. Anyone have any experience with it? Thanks in advance for any insights. 3. By all means...post more pics as you get them. Everybody here loves pictures.?
  4. That is a beautiful car, and you certainly did it justice with your build.?
  5. Better yet, get a food de-hydrator. You can keep your spray can in there to keep them warm. And you can dry the painted model in it. No dust or bugs on it either once it’s in there.
  6. Well done! That is one sweet looking automobile. ?
  7. I’ve got it pretty much together. Just want to let every thing dry really well before I try to mask the roof and spray it with dullcoat.
  8. Hey, when I started out, I’d have been proud of that job!? The glue is a little sparse in some spots though.?
  9. I just pulled this one off the shelf yesterday...then put it back. ? Sad to hear the tooling is in such bad condition. I also like to build mostly stock. I will be watching your build with interest.?
  10. Thanks David. I originally tried going with a dark green, and then did a test with maroon, root beer and this pearl green...and the pearl just looked the best I think.
  11. I could afford to have one built...in 1/25 scale. Probably only $8,000 - $20,000. ?
  12. The only useable pieces I see are the cab, hood, hood ornament, and maybe the grill and headlights? And the dash is quite nice actually. I’m not quite sure how to proceed with this yet, so bear with me. ? If any one has modified Die cast bodies or has a link to something, I’d be interested. I am specifically wondering how to bring the centerline of the windshield Forward so it is not a flat windshield. Leading vs bondo? I’d love to cast the cab and hood, but I have next to no experience with it.?
  13. Nice tube work on those bumpers! I like!
  14. Sweet little Beetle!
  15. Love these cars. Nice build!
  16. Very nice build! The green looks good on it.
  17. This is actually a nice little kit except for the roof being a separate part. I have another of these kits that I am actually looking forward to building as a hot rod.? Thanks for looking, Greg. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/150783-amt-‘36-ford-coupe/
  18. I’m calling this one done. I used epoxy to mount the headlight buckets since they seem to need to lean out a bit to clear the hood. The mounts molded to the fenders should have been slightly farther apart? I also made some taillight lens from clear red sprue because there were none in the kit. 19. The main thing I want to do to the cab is fix that awful windshield somehow.?
  20. I want to build a replica of my truck which is on a Chevy Blazer frame. It may be a little early to start a build thread on this, as I don’t intend to get seriously into it just yet. But I think it’s going to be a lonnngg winter. ? Just a couple teaser pics with a cardboard box I made to get an idea of the proportions. And the possible donor kits so far? Comments welcome as always.
  21. I just came across this while surfing. Wow! What a beautiful car. I’d love to build one, but it’s way beyond my skill level.? https://www.hotrod.com/articles/eric-zausners-1936-ford-roadster-blends-the-elements-of-a-hot-rod-sports-car-and-fighter-plane/
  22. Some nice looking kits here. I will have to keep my eyes open! Thanks.
