  1. Mike, Thank you for the compliment but I hope you not only referring to the 1st pic of the Blue Shelby. Because it is actually a real 1:1 Shelby.
  2. Stephan, Bob, Dan and Cliff, Thank you.
  3. Thank you for the encouragement Joe. I get through it sooner or later because I really want it in my collection. Thank you JC. Thank you Bob. Unfortunately the blue was stripped off paint job before last.
  4. Thank you Dennis. Thank you Carl
  5. Struggling with this one again. Got a so so white base coat down. Waited a few days. Started masking stripes per Shelby spec. Paint felt a little tacky so I only did the hood and the nose. Just checked under the masking tape. Sure enough, masking tape texture embedded in the white stripes. GRRR. Back in the purple lake again. This is sad. The interior and chassis have been done for months.
  6. Thank you Bob. ?
  7. Anton, Thank you for the compliment. The grille is close enough for my taste as it is, but thank you for the offer to help create a better example. However, I have no other 72 (or 71) kits left to build.
  8. I have acquired some more license plate decals from some recent builds. I needed a couple for my extended flatbed WIP. So I made another batch. While I was at it I finally added the vanity plates for 3 of my Challengers.
  9. I got most of the frame parts assembled. The instructions want you to glue the frame to the deck(s) first then put everything else on. My decks are not ready yet. Besides there is some play on the mating of them. I want to take advantage of that for best alignment.
  10. I love the wheel flares on that Camaro. It reminds me of one I saw in a Car Craft or Hot Rod magazine around 1976. It was dark green and had very tastefully done wheel flares that were slightly better than the ones on this red car. If you build it, I will follow along.
  11. This is very unique. I like it.
  12. Tastefully done!
  13. Thank you Jeff. Kerry, Off ebay from China Thank you Dan. I am glad I made it big enough to paint semi-trailer parts. The surprise bonus is that the corrugated plastic in front holds the bamboo skewers I use to hold parts while they dry.
  14. These are complete at last. the DMV delayed my paperwork for years but I finally got my vanity plates
  15. It took awhile but I finally made the vanity plates for my blue 72 SS.
  16. I got all the pieces for this and a couple of other projects mounted and painted.
  17. Dang! You NAILED IT!
  18. That is what I have been doing as well. If I can get it to stay down on its own just long enough, a coat of Future seals it (and any decals) down.
  19. I developed a solution to that problem. Instead of gluing the shaker to the engine and HOPING it comes up through the hood correctly, do this. Take a 3/8 ball of Silly Putty or similar substance and push it onto the carb(s). Set the shaker on that and then gently press the hood on. This way it sits as high and straight as possible while allowing the hood to be closed all the way. Another bonus is you can pull the shaker off later if you want to show off the engine at a show without damaging anything. BTW (and it is a bit late now) the tail panel should be blacked out on Cudas. https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=1971+cuda+rear&form=HDRSC2&first=1&tsc=ImageBasicHover
  20. Creative color combos. I like it. I think your tail lamps are trying to hide. They should protrude through the openings.
  21. THAT DOES IT!!!! Where in the world are you people buying the automobile shrinking machines!!!!!! I want one too!!!!!
  22. Nice engine. I have a couple of 2012 repops. Following.
  23. I vote you fix the rockers to your satisfaction with sheet or tube stock. Be careful about the dreaded "red bleed" in your paint process.
  24. Measuring and doing the math for just the trailer comes out to 56' 3". My COE day cab will keep the overall length down enough to still fit in my display cabinet.
  25. Onto the next modification. I wanted to take advantage of the extendability of the frame and increase the deck length to accommodate 3 long cars. I have the floor from a parted out short hauler that even has a woodgrain pattern. The width was really close and I shortened each end right up to the nearest crossmember. I fabricated a perimeter frame with some Evergreen C-channel. I made two tracks to locate the deck on the extended trailer frame from some Plastruct I-beam. Once the perimeter was complete I fabricated tie-down rails from some more Evergreen styrene. I got them to match pretty close to the kit's tie-down rails.
