  1. My father used to say something like that to me. He said "he was a young man trapped in this old body". He was injured badly skiing at Mt Rose at Lake Tahoe in his seventies. Doctors told him he would never ski again. Two years later they finely said he could do a little Cross Country skiing.
  2. I was thinking the same thing. This would look great in PD Livery, the bad guys would just give up rather than trying to out run this.
  3. If you happen to have the '65 Chevelle Wagon that AMT released at the same time as the El Camino, all of the goodies interchange. Both have been reissued many times and should be easy to find.
  4. I would make sure you're not stepping on any ones toes when it comes to copy rights and such. Otherwise I buy one or two carts.

    1970 GTX

Beautiful looking build. I agree with you on the GTX stripes. I like the stance and the wheels. I'm going to have to get one of those 6 pack setups, they're just to cool looking.
  6. I built this kit when it first came out. It was one of the old 3 in 1 AMT's. I also built it using the parts on the box as a Gasser. The original kit had the option of enlarged rear wheel opens including a glue in wheel opening flair. You are lucky in that the original builder didn't open up the rear fenders. The relief on the inside of the body is far bigger than need be and with yours still standard I think it looks much better. The work you have done so far on the body looks great. This might even look good with the famous Ford tear drop hood scoop.
  7. Wait a minute. My knowledge of the 1:1 car is limited, It looks like the driver is sitting next to the gas tank ? The few times I have seen these on TV I was impressed with the racing.
  8. That is a very nice Flat Head, but if you're trying to stay with a '49 - '53 Flat Head you'll have to remember to use the later Heads and Distributor.
  9. I know what you mean. Seeing these pictures when these ladies were the focus of the crowed remind me that at that time I was thick of hair and thin of waist unlike now.
  10. He and his sound will be missed. I'm looking around in a couple of local used record/book stores in the area to see if any of his old albums are still around.
  11. Very clean looking build. To bad the 1:1 car didn't receive proper care. The build looks very period correct.
  12. Beautiful looking Cutlass Supreme. I like how your vinyl roof turned out. Very clean chrome trim and the interior looks perfect.
  13. Great pictures and thank you for sharing them. Sorry it was such sad circumstances.
  14. I think Revell offered a Ram 1500 2wd with the Hemi. The only thing I remember is that the picture on the box was of a blue truck. I'm sure I had one but it can't be found now. I have sold of many kits in the last few years and I'm afraid this could have been one of them.
  15. Now if you have your foot to the floor just to keep up with traffic that might hurt your gas mileage. Small engines can reach a point that they have to work so hard to power whatever their in that they lose to a slightly more powerful engine.
  16. Great idea. I like so many others here like to see what others are doing.
  17. That is probably this easiest way to do want you're wanting in this case. I agree the hole through the engine really is a bad deal, but it is an easy fix. What I have done in the past was to cut pieces of Plastruct to the shape of the opening and glue in place. A small amount of body filler closes any remaining gaps and a little sanding and you never know it was there. I have used this on several vintage AMT kits also.
  18. Is there going to be a designated photographer ??
  19. Great looking 510. I built one of the original BRE livery kits a couple of years ago and like you the decals were in bad shape. I was able to clean them up in the water dish and position them and they held their place long enough to dry and then spray them with clear. This is a great kit and I like that you stayed with the SCCA theme.
  20. Very nice, clean looking trim.
  21. Beautiful looking build. I like how you did the interior. These were very colorful cars when new and you captured that look.

    69 Yenko Nova

Beautiful looking build. Great detail through out. I like the look of the wheels with no center caps.
  23. I like the showroom stock look. Great paint finish and all the trim is very clean looking. This is a good color combination .
  24. I stopped trying to build multi kits at the same time years ago. Seemed like nothing ever got finished and I would change my mind on the direction of the builds half way through. I'm still not a speedy builder but I do finish one before I start another.
  25. Model Master also offers a spray called Fabric Tan #28136. This will give you a medium brown color with a fabric like finish. What ever color you settle on you might want to spray a flat clear on any surface that is supposed to be fabric and nothing shinier than a semi gloss on any surface that you want to be vinyl or leather. This will give you the same effect.
