'62 Ford Galaxie 500 Update! 12/23/22 Finally Done! Pic pg. 7
David G. replied to Plowboy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Good color choice! You could call it "Hayes" Grey! Not only do Haze Grey and Light Ghost Grey look similar, they're also close to the primer grey that's already on the car. In any case, it's a great looking model. David G. -
That top came out great Steve! Thanks for sharing your technique with us. David G.

Thanks Chaz, I appreciate your comment. Thank you Carl, I hope it ends up being worth all the effort. I believe that you're correct regarding the movie props Scott, I've seen examples of that first hand. The painting is done and I did dry brush some silver to highlight some of the details. I think they turned out well enough. Thank you for your comment Scott. I'll probably see the latest movie at some point but I'm not in any hurry. I liked the first one, the second was... okay. The third one, the reboot, was in my opinion a waste of time. I actually rented it twice through Netflix. I put the disc in the que a second time because I'd forgotten that I had already watched it a few months earlier. It was that memorable. I'm glad to have you along on the build Craig, thanks for following along. In my research for this build I've seen photos of the Original Ecto-1 in various stages of neglect and of course, a couple of shots of it for the new movie. I have to say, I did feel a twinge of desire to build one in a distressed state and maybe someday I will. But for right now Scott, I think this one will satisfy my Ghostbusters craving. Thanks for all the support, I do enjoy your comments. David G.

Nice work on this one so far Bob! I really like all the small touches you're adding. David G. -
Hello Everybody! So far I've spent almost as much time building these Proton Pack as I have working on the rest of the model. In the end I hope it will have been worth it. The construction phase is finished, now it's off to the paint shop! I know that they look kind of rough but I have to keep reminding myself that once the model is assembled they will really only be visible as shadows or silhouettes. That, and a little detail painting goes a long way. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.

Excellent work on this one Chaz. I love the color and the chrome treatment you did really sets it apart. It looks like this is a pretty quick build. I have one in my stash I've been itching to get to but I currently have too many projects going on. David G.

I frequently haunt the WIP section so I don't know how I managed to miss this one but I'm glad I found it. Now that I'm all caught up all I can say is: Amazing Work! I love all the detail you've added, all of it extremely well done too. There's just too much great stuff going on to comment on any specific thing. David G. -
Beautiful color, very eye-catching. Nicely Done! David G.

The chrome and metal work looks great as does the paint. A good clean solid looking build. It actually looks like it has some weight to it as a real vehicle would. David G. -

Looks great! Lots of cool custom work going on there. David G. -
You've got a lot of excellent detail work going on, it'll be great to see it all come together. That's also quite a rake on that car! ? It reminds me of when I bought my first set of air shocks back in the Seventies. David G.

Beautiful work on the grille and hood! David G.

It's a bummer to have to put it away, maybe a solution will present itself in the future. I have at least three or four builds that are "awaiting further development" so there's always hope. David G.
