  5. Everything else with this build seems to be going so well that it must be extra frustrating to be fighting so much with the paint. I've found that there a couple of paints that just don't seem to work with my painting style. I say this because other people seem to make these paints work with little or no difficulty but I just can't get them to cooperate. For me, those brands are Rustoleum and any Testors in a spray can. Rustoleum has great colors but I think their cans are designed for spraying lawn furniture rather than detailed plastic models. The paint sprays out like it's coming from a garden hose. And Testors? Well, their big problem is inconsistency. Every can of theirs I ever bought and used was different than any other in terms of paint thickness, coverage, density and propellant. And their spray enamels take weeks to cure, even here in Phoenix during the summer. I try to use mostly Tamiya paints either in a jar or can. When I painted my Charger I used Tamiya TS-22 Light Green over a black primer. I think it's a pretty good match. Color sanding and a respray should work but if if it comes to a complete repaint, you may want to give Tamiya spray cans a try. They're like an airbrush in a can. Regards, David G.
  6. I finally got all caught up on this one and all I can say is "WOW!" Absolutely astounding work as always Dann! Museum quality even. Every time I follow one of your WIP threads, I end up learning quite a bit about scratch building and model building in general. Thank you for taking the time to document and post your builds. David G.
  7. Gorgeous paint and stunning foil work! The scripts and badges look great too. David G.
  8. As usual, nice work on this one Bob. I like that there is a bit of a rake to the stance, sort of a nod to custom trends of yore. The interior looks great, nice detail painting. I might have gone with a dark blue for the carpet rather than black, just my own personal preference. Nice engine and chassis too. David G.
  9. I never would have guessed it was an unpainted snap kit. It looks great, nicely done! David G.
  10. Thank you Chaz. Thanks Steve, I appreciate your comment. David G.
  11. Hello Everybody! I have some more done on the interior, I've added some basic detail to the dashboard. Here's what I have for the interior tub so far. I do plan to add some more detail but not too much as most of it won't be easy to see once the model is assembled. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
  12. Spectacular detail work on this, looks great! David G.
  13. Smooooth an' Deadly! David G.
  14. Nice paintwork and detailing with just the right amount of weathering. Excellent work! David G.
  15. Everything looks fantastic! Great work with the decals, I imagine it was a challenge getting them all centered, straight and square. David G.
  16. Nice work, good color and detail painting. David G.
  17. You've done some beautiful mods and updates on this kit Gareth! Everything looks top notch as always but your work on the engine finds a special place in my heart. Back when I was in high school, a classmate of mine build a '74 Pinto with a 4cyl. and four-speed manual transmission. In a similar fashion to what you've done with yours he put, as I recall, four Suzuki side-draft carburetors... essentially one carburetor per cylinder. That car had zero rev time and was wicked fast! Of course it looked nowhere near as good as yours as it spent the rest of its days in primer spots and body filler. A fond memory nonetheless. Thanks for that. David G.
  18. Most interesting! You have some elegant solutions to the issues at hand. It'll be great to see where you go with this. I did something similar with my Chevy Proton, splicing a '56 Nomad and '58 Impala together for the body. Here's a link to the build threat if you're interested. This one is definitely going on my watchlist. David G.
  19. The paint looks great, excellent color choice. I'm glad you got the trim bit sorted. It's like I say in my signature line, "Each kit I build is really only practice for the next one!". Once I developed that line of thought, it became much easier for me to push ahead and allow myself to make mistakes. Nice work on the chassis, classic Gasser stuff there. David G.
  20. The chassis looks great! Excellent progress on this. David G.
  21. The stripes look fantastic and the engine bay detail is mind-blowing! It looks great up on its wheels. Good ride height, very solid looking. David G.
  22. Hi Tom, It's great to know that someone else is working on making the same crazy conversion that I am. It'll be cool having someone to share ideas with. I like where you're going with the roof on yours. I still toy with the thought of doing that for mine, I guess some of that will depend on how the interior turns out. Thanks for posting the photos, I look forward to seeing more. David G.
  23. Great looking chassis Bob. David G.
  24. It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday Carl. I hope your upcoming year is a great one! David G.
  25. Excellent work on the custom mods and kit bashing! David G.
